INCUBATION PHASE

The Incubation Phase is the launch pad for new businesses. During this phase, RBI Fellows complete comprehensive business plans by applying the entrepreneurial training provided by RBI. Here, they demonstrate the knowledge needed to start a new business and the skills to operate it successfully.

RBI Mentors provide encouragement, customized advice, and guidance to Fellows throughout the Incubation Phase. This support includes assistance in completing the paperwork required for startup, such as certifications and financing applications.

Each Fellow submits a draft business plan to his or her Mentor. The Mentor and several other corporate executives review the draft business plan and provide constructive feedback to help strengthen the plan.

A Fellow may be asked to present the business plan in an oral briefing. The Fellow incorporates the review comments to produce a final business plan. Mentors and other RBI personnel remain accessible to Fellows during the Incubation Phase via telephone contact, electronic correspondence, and in-person meetings.
